Release of Flexisip Account Manager v2.0
The Flexisip Account Manager (FAM) team is pleased to announce the release of version 2.0, marking a major milestone since version 1.0 was published in March 2024.
This new release brings significant improvements in terms of security, remote configuration via OpenID Connect, as well as new features for administrators and integrators.
History and evolutions since version 1.5
Version 1.5 was released in September 2024 and already represented an important step forward for FAM. Here is a brief overview of the features it introduced:
- Detection and blocking of abusive accounts
- Bot protection for account creation
- OpenID Connect authentication for remote configuration
- Administrable address book (vCard Storage)
What’s new in Flexisip Account Manager 2.0
1. Multi-tenant management
The solution now supports the management of multiple SIP domains simultaneously, each within separate spaces with dedicated administrators. This enables multi-site use cases, for example when a company wants to maintain isolated environments for different services within its SIP administration platform.
This feature is also particularly valuable for MSPs, who can deploy the solution to multiple customers while managing a single centralized platform.
2. Custom push notifications
Technical enhancements have been made in Flexisip Account Manager 2.0 to allow push notifications to be sent directly to Linphone applications from an external server.
A third-party server can now send notifications directly to a standard Linphone client.
This feature is reserved for customers of our professional offering. Detailed documentation is available in the public wiki: Sending push notification to Linphone mobile Apps.
3. External accounts
Administrators can configure external accounts via the API or the web interface to:
- Receive and place calls to numbers outside the Linphone system
- Connect an external telephony account
To use this feature, Flexisip 2.4 is required, as it includes SIP-bridge support.
4. Simplified integration with URI Handler
Flexisip Account Manager is compatible with Linphone’s URI handler feature. With a simple click on a specific URL, a configuration file is automatically downloaded for the user, Linphone is opened, the configuration is applied, and a call to a given SIP address is initiated.
This feature makes it easier, for example, to integrate the softphone into another application within a digital workspace.
5. Multilingual support
The software now supports multiple languages, with French and English currently available. Feel free to contact us if you would like to contribute additional translations!
| Technical information regarding PHP
This new version requires PHP 8.1 to function properly. Administrators must update their environment to ensure compatibility with FAM 2.0. |
With this new release, Flexisip Account Manager continues to strengthen security, account management flexibility, and interoperability with other services.
