Belledonne Communications unveils a brand-new interface for its website “linphone.org.” This complete redesign was undertaken to modernize the graphics, better meet the expectations of users and the community, reflect the company’s evolution, and showcase the different offerings tailored to each need.

Why This Redesign?

The site needed an update to adapt to current needs. Dedicated spaces have been created for each profile: developers and system administrators, public and private organizations, users of the Linphone software suite, and the individual user community.

The last redesign was five years ago, so it was time to revisit the design, graphic guidelines, and key messaging to reflect the company’s growth. This redesign also provides the opportunity to introduce the new Linphone app interface (version 6.0) and introduce a new sales model aimed at professional users of the solution and service providers (MSPs).

Don’t worry, the historical “technology provider” sales model will still be available; this new model complements and enriches the value propositions of the solutions to meet client needs.

Organization Around This Redesign

To ensure the success of this project, a collective approach was adopted, focusing on understanding the needs and challenges of our different clients and users.

Several steps helped optimize the site:

1. Involvement of Technical Teams

The development teams, composed of 22 software engineers, were consulted to discuss the technical areas of the site. As daily users of technical documentation, their feedback was crucial in identifying areas for improvement, as well as features and pages to add to make their work easier. Workshops between developers and the marketing team were organized to make the site more accessible and understandable.

2. Client Interviews, Qualitative Study

With the support of a marketing agency, in-depth interviews were conducted to understand the use of the documentation, the challenges faced, and the expected improvements. These studies helped gather essential data on user experience and the specific needs of each organization.

3. Creation of the FAQ Based on Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions from mailing lists were analyzed to identify points of confusion and create a relevant FAQ. The goal is to reduce the need for direct support and offer better autonomy to users.

What Has Changed on the Website

1. Improved User Experience

Every element of the site has been rethought to make navigation easier and allow faster access to essential information. Whether you’re a developer looking for documentation, a business wanting to outsource project customization, or a regular user seeking quick answers, everything is now organized clearly and accessibly, with dedicated spaces for each profile.

2. Personalized Spaces for Each Audience

  • Developers & System Admins: Easy access to documentation, APIs, software architectures, and technical resources.
  • Organizations: Discover the solution and its features, explore the responses to various challenges, and consult available resources.
  • Community: Peer exchanges via mailing lists, feedback sharing, contribution, and access to the FAQ. New channels have been opened to gather user feedback, either through mailing lists or directly on the site.

3. A Modern Interface

With a modernized design in terms of UX and smoother navigation, the new site is designed to offer a more pleasant experience, no matter the device used. The graphic guidelines have been rethought so that each user group feels “at home” in their dedicated space.

Regarding colors, here’s the guiding principle adopted:

  • Orange: our DNA, representing the company’s identity.
  • Purple: Associated with the developers and system administrators space.
  • Blue: Reserved for private and public organizations.
  • Light Pink: Dedicated to the community.

Linphone 6.0 Reimagined

This site redesign is accompanied by a UX/UI redesign of our flagship product: the Linphone app (version 6.0). This version, whose beta is already available on public repositories for Android and iOS, is the result of several months of development and our desire to create an intuitive application that aligns with consumer app standards. Beta testing registrations are open to gather user feedback.

A New Sales Model to Address Current Challenges

Public and private organizations increasingly need to modernize their communication systems. Whether it’s to reduce reliance on costly GAFAM solutions, often locked in proprietary ecosystems, or to meet new requirements for remote work, collaboration, mobility, and security, the challenges are numerous.

Linphone offers a comprehensive software suite to smoothly evolve a VoIP infrastructure toward softphone solutions. It helps enhance collaboration with a unified communication solution optimized for both mobile and desktop environments. Its modern design and intuitive interface ensure fast adoption by teams while maintaining a high level of security.
