Liblinphone’s Python wrapper gets a new lease of life

A new version of the Liblinphone Python wrapper has been released. More efficient and easier to maintain than the original wrapper project, which was launched several years ago, this new version is now fully integrated into the linphone-sdk project.

This wrapper allows you to use Liblinphone’s features from a Python program, including making and receiving SIP calls. It can be particularly useful for quickly developing small applications based on Liblinphone, such as voice bots, chatbots, automation tools, prototypes or custom applications.

It is currently available on Linux only and complements the existing range of wrappers, including those for Java/Kotlin, Swift, C# and C++.

  • Getting started documentation for the Python wrapper is available on the wiki.
  • A tutorial is also available in the GitLab repository.

💡 The documentation will be updated based on your feedback. If you try out the wrapper and come across an issue or notice any missing information, please feel free to contact us.
