This release introduces several enhancements on the <strong>audio and chat<\/strong> sides, with a strong focus on <strong>call quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Improved Audio Call Quality<\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">SDK 5.5 includes an update of <strong>AEC3<\/strong>, WebRTC\u2019s echo canceller, which is now more efficient and, above all, more adaptive. It automatically adjusts <strong>echo delay management during calls<\/strong>, significantly improving audio quality &#8211; especially on desktop environments that often lack hardware echo cancellation systems.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, noise reduction based on the open-source project <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/xiph\/rnnoise\">RNNoise<\/a><\/strong> has been added on desktop. It effectively reduces <strong>background noise<\/strong> without distorting the voice, even in noisy environments.<\/p>\n<h3 data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Message Editing and Deletion<\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Chat capabilities are evolving with the addition of features commonly found in consumer applications: <strong>remote message editing and deletion<\/strong> after sending within a conversation. Two deletion options are available: <strong>local deletion<\/strong> (visible only to the user) or deletion <strong>for all participants<\/strong>. After 24 hours, only local deletion remains available.<\/p>\n<p>These improvements provide greater day-to-day <strong>flexibility<\/strong> and allow users to quickly correct mistakes or unintended messages.<\/p>\n<h3>New Policy for Ephemeral Messages<\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">The behavior of <strong>ephemeral messages<\/strong> has been enhanced with a new policy. Message deletion no longer depends solely on all participants reading the message, as is the case with the default policy.<\/p>\n<p>In practice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A message disappears <strong>after being read by a participant<\/strong>, following the expiration delay set by the sender.<\/li>\n<li>A<strong> longer delay<\/strong>, configurable at the service level, ensures automatic deletion of the message &#8211; even if it has not been read.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Bluetooth headset support<\/h3>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">SDK 5.5 add support for <strong>Bluetooth telephony controls<\/strong>, with broad compatibility across most devices on the market, including <strong>Jabra headsets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Key actions (answering calls, muting, audio control) can now be performed directly from the headset.
