This release includes several improvements: smoother integration, new features, and multiple optimizations designed to streamline the daily work of developers and system administrators.<\/p>\n\"\"\n

iOS and macOS: Transition to Swift Package Manager<\/h2>\n

This is the major change for iOS and macOS: we’re moving from CocoaPods to Swift Package Manager for SDK distribution<\/strong>. The result? A simpler<\/strong>, faster integration<\/strong> that’s better aligned with Apple\u2019s native tools. No more need to maintain a Podfile \u2014 setup is lighter, and dependency management is cleaner.<\/p>\n

Forward Error Correction Now Available<\/h2>\n

Forward Error Correction (FEC<\/strong>, RFC8627<\/a>) is now supported. This media-level improvement ensures better video quality, even on unstable networks, by significantly reducing packet loss.<\/p>\n

Faster Instant Messaging<\/h2>\n

SDK 5.4 continues to improve instant messaging (IM)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  • Faster text search in conversations<\/strong>: performance revamped for instant results, even in long threads.<\/li>\n
  • New IMDN behavior<\/strong>: read receipts in group chats are now visible only to the message sender.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    SIP Authentication and OpenID Connect<\/h2>\n

    Linphone SDK 5.4 now supports SIP authentication via OpenID Connect<\/strong>. This enables developers to integrate centralized authentication that\u2019s interoperable with modern identity systems more easily.<\/p>\n

    CardDAV Contact Search<\/h2>\n

    SDK 5.4 now supports contact lookup via the CardDAV protocol, enabling direct synchronization with remote address books. This feature allows you to quickly find your business or personal contacts without manually importing them into the app. It also ensures real-time updates for centralized contact management.<\/p>\n

    SDK Enhancements<\/h2>\n

    The Java wrapper<\/strong> is now available on Linux and Windows, expanding cross-platform development capabilities. Additionally, a Python wrapper<\/strong> is now included \u2014 supporting one of today’s most widely used programming languages.<\/p>\n
